A pair of fine English rogues we encountered, wandering the lanes at TRF. Can you guess which one actually ate the haggis--and which one enjoyed it???!? (photo by John Dunn).
A knight and his lady, showing two of the "chainmail" costume styles which are popular at TRF. Her artful tatoos are very well done! (photo by John Dunn).
A cavalier, his lady and their squire. Note the lady's dainty dagger, fashionably laced into her bodice for easy access. Considering that all the gentry--both male and female--carry live steel about their persons at all times during the Faire, both courtesy and respect toward the players is wise: especially with the ladies! A gentlelady, using a parasol for shade in the hot, Texas sun. According to bystanders overheard by the photographer, this was the King's mistress--who would be "Angelica", as played by Stephanie DeWaegeneer (photo by John Dunn).
A knight in shining armor on horseback passes the time of day with a Faire maid, says Mike Harris. Ryleh originally thought he might be one of the jousters from the Tournament Field: for though his armor was highly burnished, it also appeared stout enough to deflect a foeman's lance or spear. However, the Lady Regina Rohrer wrote: "the man on the horse wasn't
actually in the joust: he's really a very talented shop owner who makes all that armor himself. I was most impressed by that headpiece he made for his horse. If I had a horse myself, I would have tried desperately to pool my money to buy that sucker. I wish I could remember the price on it. I think it was around $2,000!" (photo by Mike Harris).
