THE MINNESOTA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL - 1997-98
by Jerome Jacobson
Terry Foy, aka Zilch the Torysteller, performing at the Witchwood Stage, gives the audience his version of Jomeo and Ruliet. His stories are told in spoonerisms which makes for some interesting telling! My favorite quote comes from the balcony scene when Jomeo sees Ruliet. " Oh, to a hove upon
that gland." This picture was taken at Zilch's last show on the final day of the 1998 Minnesota Renaissance Festival. By the way, he does sell cassette tapes of his stories so that you can share them with your less fortunate friends who missed his show. Other stories include Loldigocks and the Bee Threars and Rindercella and the Stoo Tugly Epsisters.
This is a picture taken at the Pagan Hill campfire afterhours of the first night of the 1998 Minnesota Renaissance Festival. James (on the right) and Melissa (in the middle) listen to a friend play James' guitar one last time before the guitar is sacrificed to the fire. The guitar had cracked from the sound hole to the butt and was no longer playable for quality.
The photo on the left is a picture of me in my old costume on the last day of the 1998 Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Normally I wear contacts, but I lost one that morning and had to wear my glasses for the day. This costume worked OK when I was working in a food booth, but I'm going to try and do better at the next Faire I work at. On the right is my new costume that I will be wearing when I go on vacation and hit the Tennessee Ren Faire and Scarborough Faire. It was take at home at Christmas. My Mom made the white shirt as a Christmas present!
