My apologies for the shiny blur, but I would wager that I was a little too overanxious to present the three musical ladies of "Satura Lanx." They are (in Photo, right, from left to right): Deborah Robbins, guitar; Monica Mugan, recorder; and Kiyomi Camp, vocals. They were among several musical newcomers-- along with a few of our old friends who have never let our Festival down.
Like E. Michael Markwis, for example. That's Michael at left (in Photo) blowing on the recorder there. The silvery flute is wielded by Elizabeth Clarke; and Bob Butts, at right, plucks on the harp. Together they are "L'Amoroso," and most of their day at the Festival was spent with Nitza Maldonado and Ron McKay (as "Scheherezade and her Sheik"); as well as Bob LePre and Rosemary Briardi of "St. Mark's Consort." Their musical duties consisted of romantic Arabian ballads and an exploration of dance in Eastern Africa (Beth Anna Ferguson as "Nzingha" assisted the musicians there).
