By 8:15pm, we were off to the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in search of Otters. We were punchdrunk by this time, so we didn't realize Chris "The Sandwich God" and his lovely wife were sitting behind us. After much discussion (and a kitten or two from me), Ivy, Gareth, Raymond, Anthony, and others arrived. (Sorry, I'm having a mental block as to who it was, forgive me.) We occupied the entire rear wall, drove our waitresses insane, and generally had a great time for two hours!
After IHOP, it was back to camp, where --unknown to me-- the McDobrahns and Anthony had set up camp. Mandalyn came by just as I was about to drop off into sleep, but I didn't shout "Weezohs!" loudly enough, so it wasn't until Saturday that we met...
First thing Saturday morning, I was geek pinned by Raymond, and the day was off. I met Mike Bonk at the front gate, and then it was off to the Sadistic Yellow Booth to sign in, talk with Eric, meet Greg, Mandalyn, Bill, MarkQ, Frederick, and the others whose names I can't remember. After wandering around site for awhile, I met Richard at the booth he was working and had one of Chris's sandwiches. His food is excellent, and there is LOTS of it! Then it was back to Dark Rose for the group picture before the Wench Walk started. Behold, Wench Walks are a force to be reckoned with, even if they don't run as smoothly as planned!
Ivy and Elizabeth were Saturday's Rogueing targets, and although it was the first time for most of the Rogues, it went wonderfully. This is a hobby I can finally enjoy practicing! Closing came, and with it the HUGE party. After eating, I wandered into Greg and Eric's encampment, where I met Danicia, who is one of the friendliest people I've ever met; her husband; their friend, Eek, and her husband. I got a sip or two of Vicky's Mead during supper, and was happy. Greg brought out his Purple Mead, which IS YUMMIES! After much talking, we disbanded around 2am. Then I found a party right in front of my tent, which I slept through, with the exception of somebody blowing into a trumpet or something around 4am in the morning!
Sunday morning after showering it was back to the Dark Rose, where I basically sat until the days' Rogueing began. Mandalyn and Danicia were the targets, and if I say so, I get better with practice! By the end, I was finally less shy and tongue-tangled. (No, I'm not shy, it's my really, really good disguise.) After saying goodbye to everyone, Dano and I left at 8:30pm, had some REALLY interesting conversations during the drive back to Tulsa, and made it to his house by 1:30am. I crashed there, and made it home the next afternoon at 12:30pm. It was a really, really short drive, and I can't help but wish the weekend had lasted longer!
For those of you who didn't make it, you were thought of. For those of you I met this weekend, I can only say I'm honored to know you. I've never felt so welcome anywhere before, and I hope we can all meet again, soon! My words just can't express how much I enjoyed your company!! I hope to be called "Friend" by you all-- as I consider you each so!!!
Special thanks go out to Dano, for the ride and putting up with my gabbering Sunday night; Ivy for helping everybody out so much; and Greg and Eric for letting us occupy their booth and probably scare buying patrons away!
