KANSAS CITY RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL
Think of it as "back to the past", with beggars and hermits, knights and vagabonds, lords and ladies strolling the grounds saying "prithee" and "g'day, milord" and "forsooth!"; or think of it as a medieval Woodstock, with bagpipers and players, dancers and magicians, jugglers and entertainers plying their trades from both the stage and the street; or think of it as a Bazaar of the Bizarre, with arts and craftsmen, hawkers and tradesmen offering paintings, leatherwork, illuminations, jewelry, ceramics, staves, incense, arms and armor from their booths, carts and wagons.
It's the sound of the crowd, the lilt of Keltic music and hawkers crying their wares; the smell of woodsmoke and food and ale drifting from the foodvendors' booths; the dusty, well-worn paths and unpaved roads between the medieval-style buildings; or coming unexpectedly upon a troll collecting tolls at the bridge. All that--and more!--is the Kansas City Renaissance Festival!
In the Fall of 1994 and again in 1995, Ryleh travelled first alone and then with his friends John and Sean for a Faire weekend in Kansas City. Step back with us now to a bygone age of Chivalry and Romance, when knights were bold...and all damsels in distress were beautiful! Join us as we visit...
