Many of the videoclips following were originally recorded "in the field" with an 8mm movie camera, beginning in 1957. The resulting film footage was then copied with a camcorder aimed at the projector screen as the film played. That VCR tape was then sampled at 34kps (optimized for 56K dial-up Modem) using RealProducer G2 for Windows98. Unfortunately, this copying process severely degraded the original image quality of the film.
In addition, the copying computer was simply not fast enough to create "television quality" videoclips (30 frames/sec). Therefore, the resulting videoclips will seem slow, jerky and murky. We sincerely regret the inconvenience. However, they will give you a good idea of Festival events at the time they were taken!
